Job Description

Position Summary
As a Receiving Associate at Sam’s Club, you’ll play an essential role in keeping our club running smoothly. You’ll be responsible for managing incoming shipments, organizing the receiving area, and ensuring that merchandise moves efficiently and safely throughout the facility. Your attention to detail helps maintain accurate inventory, uphold safety standards, and ensure members always find what they need — when they need it.

What You’ll Do

Manage Shipments: Process deliveries according to company standards — creating delivery schedules, verifying counts, completing receiving reports, and routing merchandise to the correct departments.

Organize the Receiving Area: Maintain a clean, efficient space by following safety and merchandising procedures, using equipment correctly, and completing all required documentation.

Handle Claims and Returns: Process damaged or liquidation goods, maintain clearance areas, and use technology to document and report issues accurately.

Ensure Facility Safety: Conduct safety sweeps, follow forklift and hazardous material handling procedures, and report unsafe conditions promptly.

Collaborate and Communicate: Work with managers, associates, and business partners to prioritize tasks, solve challenges, and improve daily operations.

Demonstrate Integrity: Follow company policies and ethical standards, utilize the Open Door Policy, and model professional behavior at all times.

Minimum Qualifications

Must be 18 years of age or older.

Forklift Certification (or willingness to obtain certification within 30 days of hire).

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations.

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly Wage: $20.00 – $27.00 (or higher, based on location and experience)

Additional Premiums: $0.35 – $3.00 per hour may apply depending on schedule, season, or specific job duties.
